The Perimenopause Conversation - Part 3 of 4: A deep dive into progesterone
It's the waxing and waning of oestrogen, combined with a decline in progesterone, that can contribute to symptoms of perimenopause as we transition towards menopause.
Water retention
Painful breasts
Changes in mood (especially increased anxiety)
Low blood sugar
Headaches and migraines
Irregular cycles
Weight gain
...can all be signs that progesterone is low.
Changing hormones are part and parcel of this transition in life but there are things you can do to support your body for a smoother transition. In this video we cover the things biggest bang for you buck and we also touch on HRT, specifically micronised progesterone (Utrogestan) and how this could be beneficial if you are particularly challenged.
